Lake Diefenbaker is a man-made lake created by a pair of dams on the South Saskatchewan and Qu’appelle Rivers. Although it was created as a reservoir for reservation, it also serves a variety of recreational purposes.

Fishing is by far the biggest sport with world-record rainbow trout and burbot being pulled from the lake. Swimming, boatin, hiking and camping are among the other possibilities.

Just north of the lake are a series of unique geological features known as sandcastles and sunken hill formations. The Matador Grasslands are another area worth exploration.
