Highlights

Dawson City is forever a part of the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 19th century. It was the jumping off point for miners and that bit of history is woven into the fabric of the town.

Today, with a population of less than 2000, Dawson City is the second largest municipality in the Yukon Territory. Nevertheless, the town thrives and tourism is at the center of its success.

Dawson City is at the northern end of the Klondike Highway and it is an important jumping off point for the travelers driving to the Arctic Ocean on the Dempster Highway. For anyone driving to and from Alaska along the Alaska Highway, the Taylor and Top of the World Highways are an interesting alternative route.

Dawson City can be at the center of numerous journeys, but it is more than a stop along the way. Plan to spend some time in town exploring its rich history.
