Highlights
The Hoosier National Forest is comprised of several parcels in Indiana’s southern hill country. Many state parks and forests are contiguous. This extends the reach of protected lands in what is arguably the most beautiful part of Indiana.
Bloomington, home to Indiana University, is in the middle of the northern parcels. The city is a must-see and a potential base of operations.
The Forest Service does a good job maintaining campgrounds, trails and points of interest throughout the forest. The Hoosier National Forest can be a destinations, but should at least be a stop along the way.
