The town of Wisconsin Dells is the largest nearby community for services and entertainment. It is a regional entertainment mecca with waterparks and other tourist-oriented establishments and can be a madhouse in peak season.
Highlights
At the end of the last ice age, what is now Lake Wisconsin was the size of the Great Salt Lake. When the glacial dam melted, there was catastrophic flooding that eroded much of the sandstone creating huge cliffs and rock formations. This is now referred to as the “Dells” and has become a huge regional tourist attraction.
