Highlights

This destination covers the section of Lake Superior shoreline extending from Nipigon Bay to Pukaskwa National Park. This includes the northernmost point on the lake.

Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area, headquartered in Nipigon, protects largest area for protected fresh water in the world. The organization offers a variety of guided tours and interpretive programs.

The coastline between Nipigon and Pukaskwa offers numerous scenic overlooks and access to several waterfalls that are not far from the highway.

Pukaskwa National Park was established in 1978 and is located in the Thunder Bay region. The park is best known for its forests and views of Lake Superior. Visitors will find opportunities for hiking, paddling and both developed and primitive camping.

This section of Lake Superior is more beautiful that you can imagine. It has enough sites to explore that visitors will need several days to do it justice.
