Planning Tips

  1. There are just a few government campgrounds, but I recommend Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, which contains some incredible geographic features and is close enough to visit other POI.

  2. Thunder Bay is the obvious place to look for services and entertainment. Be certain to check out the marina area, which is by far the nicest part of the city.

Highlights

Thunder Bay, Ontario was once a thriving port city. Parts of the city have fallen into decay, but parts are thriving and there are many things to see on and near the western edge of Lake Superior. In the city, the marina area and nearby lakeshore are by far the best part of Thunder Bay. It is a district of parks, marinas and restaurants.
