Buffalo is at the center of New York’s second largest metropolitan area. It has an infrastructure commensurate with its size. The city’s arts and entertainment scene is vibrant. Buffalo also has great restaurants, major-league sports and many historic and cultural points of interest.
Buffalo’s geographic location makes it an exciting destination. Sitting on the edge of the Niagara escarpment, it shares its border with Canada and Lake Erie. Moreover, the city is just south of Niagara Falls, which has long been a huge tourist attraction.
The city also sits at the center of one of New York’s wine regions. The area around Lake Erie is ideal for viticulture with “wine country” that extends west into Northern Ohio and east into Canada.
A visit can last as little as a long weekend or take a couple weeks to fully explore.
