Great Basin will support a multiple-day trip, but you might consider making it a stop on the way to or from some of the Utah attractions.
Most of the campgrounds in this area do not accept reservations. There are enough options that finding q site will likely not be q problem.
The nearest community of any size is Ely, Nevada, which will offer most of the basic service and entertainment options.
Highlights
The diverse topography of Great Basin National Park seems at odds with the notions of desert, when one thinks of Nevada. From the alpine summit and glaciers of Mount Wheeler, to Lehman Caves and the ancient stand of bristlecone pines, it is a vibrant region worthy of exploration.
