Planning Tips

  1. State parks on the Maryland side are best removed from DC traffic and central to most of the sights. Alternately the NPS campgrounds at Prince William Forest are out of the way.

  2. If you are eligible to use military campgrounds, Joint Base Andrews has a family camp. See the interactive map.

  3. Alexandria offers the largest array of entertainment options, but most service needs can be located a little further from the beltway.
