Planning Tips

  1. There are only two state parks and a municipal campground reasonably close. I checked the reservation system and they seem to book far in advance, so be sure to make a reservation.

  2. If you are eligible to use military campgrounds, there is an Air Force Reserve campground just south of Boston and a Coast Guard campground down on Cape Cod. Check the Military Campgrounds map.

  3. The Greater Boston area will be able to satisfy all of your service and entertainment needs.

Highlights

There are three distinct areas to concentrate on in this part of Massachusetts. The revolutionary sites around Concord and Lexington, the harbor and witch trial sites in Salem and the plethora of historic sites in Boston. There is so much to see here that it may seem overwhelming. So either plan for a long stay or prioritize. Here are just a few of the major points of interest:
