Of course New Orleans is all about Mardi Gras, jazz, Creole foods and nightlife on Bourbon Street nightlife. Nevertheless, the city offers many more exciting attractions. The “Big Easy” has a rich history. An array of cultural and historical sites are spread throughout the metropolitan area.
Before it was part of the United States, New Orleans belonged to both France and Spain. The city’s position on the Mississippi River and the Gulf have always made it an important transportation hub. All of this has created the feel of a very international city with architecture and landmarks unlike anywhere else in the United States.
