I’m a huge fan of Corps of Engineer campgrounds, but Iowa State Parks are some of the nicest in the US and charge no day-use fee as long as you are paying to camp.
There is more in this area than just the POI listed on the map. Iowa City is a charming college town and should be visited, if you find yourself nearby.
Dubuque, Davenport, Iowa City or even Cedar Rapids are all major metropolitan areas offering all the services or entertainment options you might require.
