Half the campgrounds and most of the points of interest are closer to Las Vegas, my preference is to stay in that area.
This is a great winter destination, so electricity is probably unnecessary.
Las Vegas is the obvious major metropolitan area for services and particularly entertainment. The towns of Laughlin and Bull City to the south are less congested options.
Highlights
Just mentioning the Mojave Desert probably conjures images of vast arid spaces, possibly sand dunes, perhaps a desolate or even lifeless and rock strewn region. These tropes may be partly true or completely inaccurate. In any case, it is necessary to set aside such imbedded notions and take a closer look. The Mojave Desert is a place of incredible beauty.
