Cabo San Lucas

If you are planning to travel by RV or pull your trailer down to Cabo, you will need to pass through the rest of the Baja Peninsula. So you can cobble together a full itinerary by using the three Baja pages on this site.

This part of Mexico is about more than just sun and beaches—although that is a large part of why you may be traveling there. You can also explore the food, culture, history and geographic wonders of the region. Here are some ideas for exploration:

Cabo San Lucas

Known simply as "Cabo," this city is considered one of Mexico's top tourist destinations. The neighboring San José del Cabo are collectively known as Los Cabos. The area is rich in marine life and, during the winter months, it is common to see pods of whales.

La Laz

La Paz is the capital city of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. With a population of about a quarter million, it is also the state's largest city. It is considered very safe for tourists, particularly if you are aware of your surroundings and stay in the tourist areas.

Cabo Plumo National Park

This 71 square kilometer national marine park was established on the east coast of the Baja Peninsula to preserve one of only three coral reefs on the west coast of the North American continent. The reef is considered to be 20,000 years old and is home to a wide variety of marine life. The site was awarded its national park status in 1995 and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.
