There is a fair bit to see in this corner of Washington and I think it doesn’t get nearly attention it deserves. Roosevelt Lake National Recreation Area is a beautiful section of the Columbia River with enough sights and hikes to make it worth visiting.

Spokane is a city that surprised me. The downtown area is quite nice and the area along the river is one of the happening places with a variety of things to see and do beyond just the falls.

Even if this is just a stop along the way, you should give it three or four days to thoroughly explore.
