There are a handful of campgrounds in the valley. There are many more to the east in Shenandoah National Park or to the east in West Virginia. For more options, consult the interactive Campground Map.

Stanton in the south or Winchester in the north are great options for services and entertainment. Harrisonburg in the center is also a substantial urban area.
Highlights
The Northern Shenandoah Valley is bordered in the east by the Blue Ridge Mountains and to the west by the Allegheny Highlands. The area stretching from Stanton to Winchester is a rich agricultural area, but it also contains many numerous large caverns, historical sites, cultural attractions and vibrant, charming small cities.
