Highlights

The Rio Bravo Delta in Tamaulipas is an extension of the same biosphere that extends up through Padre Island in Texas. South of the border, however, it is a little less developed.

The delta is a scenic region with rich biodiversity. Like Padre Island, this is home to the endangered Kemp’s ridley sea turtles and a migratory base for 380 species of bird.

Of course the region has numerous beaches and the city of Matamoros is a must visit stop before or after crossing the border.
