Highlights
Ottawa is located in Southeastern Ontario at the confluence of Ottawa and Rideau Rivers. On the opposite bank of the Ottawa is the province of Quebec.
As the national capital, it is home to many government buildings, embassies, major national museums and cultural landmarks. Important sights include the Byward Market, National Gallery, Parliament Hill and the Peace Tower. Also wander through Chinatown and the city center. National historic site include Laurier House and the Rideau Canal.
Ottawa is one of North America’s must-visit cities. It is an absolutely worthwhile destination, but it can be a jumping-off point for other stops in Quebec, New England or the Great Lakes.
