Planning Tips

  1. A great stop not far from Interstate 44 with enough to see that this can be a multi-day stop. Even overnight, it is a remarkably beautiful and well-preserved section of the great plains.

  2. I recommend staying in or as close to the mountains as possible.

  3. Lawton is the third-largest city in Oklahoma, so you will find most service and entertainment options you are looking for.

Highlights

I was stationed at Fort Sill when I was in the army, so I got to know this area pretty well. Otherwise, I’d probably assume, like most other people, that there’s nothing to see in Oklahoma.
