Planning Tips
There are a pair of national park campgrounds inside Terra Nova.
This is a perfect stop along the way if traveling between St. John’s and Gros Morne or the Northern Peninsula.
Glovertown, north of the park, is the best option for services and entertainment.
Highlights
This park on Newfoundland’s northern coast contains a collection of forests, bogs, lakes and narrow inlets along Bonavista Bay. The rocky ridgelines are much-eroded remnants of the Appalachian Mountain chain.
Terra Nova preserves habitat for a large variety of mammals and avian species. Large animals include coyote, black bear, moose and caribou.
The park offers opportunities for hiking, paddling and angling. A number of ranger-led activities are also available.
