Planning Tips

  1. Only the state forest north of Cape May offers camping, but it is close enough to grant access to the cape.

  2. If you are traveling from the south, the Lewes, Delaware Ferry is a convenient option and connects directly to Cape May.

  3. Cape May is large enough to have most service and entertainment options you might require.

Highlights

Cape May is one of America’s oldest beach resorts and is known for the Victorian Gingerbread Homes that make up the neighborhoods on the ocean side of the cape. The beach has been recognized as one of the best on the east coast and the Washington Street pedestrian mall is a thriving arts and entertainment district.

The town is primarily about the beach, but there are numerous other attractions, which include artifacts remaining from WWII, lighthouses and a number of wineries.

Proximity to Atlantic City and other points of interest further north make this an attractive option for a stay of any duration.
