Highlights
There are two major points of interest in this part of Missouri. The Mark Twain National Forest and Ozark National Scenic River.
The Mark Twain National Forest is separated into several small parcels throughout Southeastern Missouri. It preserves numerous springs and historic sites scattered throughout the area.
The Ozark National Scenic River was the first national park area to protect a river system. It offers a variety of recreational opportunities that include fishing and paddling. Canoe liveries are available along its banks.
