Highlights

Holland, Michigan was originally settled by Dutch immigrants and their influence is obvious throughout city. Nowhere is it more apparent than on Windmill Island.

The Windmill Island municipal park is best known for its authentic Dutch windmill and the 100,000 tulips planted annually. A visit in any season might be fun, but spring during the Tulip Festival is the best time to explore the gardens.

During the festival, the entire city is awash in tulips and everywhere there is a celebration of the community’s Dutch heritage. It is absolutely worth the effort to visit.

This is a year round destination, but you will not regret visiting when the tulps are in bloom.
