Katahdin is many things. It is the tallest mountain in Maine, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail and the centerpiece of both Baxter State Park and Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. So it’s a mountain with some serious street cred.

Katahdin is also pretty remote and a place that must be explored primarily on foot.
