Highlights
Berkshires in Western Massachusetts are a series of mountains that extend south into Connecticut and even slightly west into New York. Mount Greylock is the highest point in the state and the summit is accessible by road. It is one of many stunning visitas awaiting in Western Massachusetts.
This region, however, is much more than a mountain range. Tourists are drawn to the recreational opportunities, but the Berkshires have a vibrant music and arts scene as well.
Towns like Pittsfield and North Adams should be explored. Edith Wharton’s home, Herman Melville’s Arrowhead and the Norman Rockwell Museum are just a few of the offerings.
The Bershires are more than a stop along the way. This is a destination that needs at least a week.
