Most of the campgrounds are along the coast, but there is an excellent municipal campground between Santa Barbara and Santa Inez.

Nearby destinations include California Central Coast and Cleveland National Forest. Santa Barbara is also a stop on the Pacific Coast Highway.
Both Santa Barbara and Santa Inez will offer a full range of service and entertainment options.

Santa Barbara sits between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Predominant westerly winds give the city one of the most pleasant climates in North America. The nearby coastline offers some of the best beaches on the west coast.
The Santa Ynez Valley is among the finest wine regions in the world. It was the location for the movie “Sideways,” and many spots in Solvang and Buellton are frequented by fans of the film.
The community of Solvang is said to be the Danish capital of the United States. The architecture, art and local culinary attractions lean in that direction. It is a charming and photo-worthy town.
This is not a long weekend stop. Thorough exploration will take no less than a week, but even that will be rushed.
