Located along Canada’s Sea to Sky Highway, Whistler is a popular winter sports destination, but there are plenty of off-season attractions.

Whistler hosted the Winter Olympics in 2010 and the local infrastructure is reflective of that event. So the town might be great place to stop, stretch your legs and gather information. It is also full of shops and restaurants.

Many sights an be seen from the road or accessed with hikes that are appropriate for your ability. Some of the waterfalls and the popular Trainwreck hike are fairly easy treks.

If you are looking for less strenuous options, the mountain trams operate in the off season offering an opportunity for high-alpine vistas without much exertion. Fishing it the many mountain lakes and streams or taking advantage of the area’s many world-class golf courses might be appealing.

Even if your are just passing through, the sights along the road are still breathtaking.
