Highlights

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is the only spot in the United States where Organ Pipe Cactus grows in the wild. For this reason, the monument has also been declared a UNESCO biosphere reserve.

The biosphere extends south across the border and includes the much larger El Pinacate and Gran Altar Desert. It is possible to cross the border and explore the Mexican reserve.
