Highlights

This 150-mile-long peninsula is bordered in the west by the Cook Inlet and in the east by the Gulf of Alaska. The Kenai Mountains run along the eastern spine and much of that range in included in the Kenai Fjords National Park.

The peninsula is rich in wildlife of all varieties. The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge both provide opportunities for exploring the local flora and fauna.

Seward, on the eastern side of the peninsula, has always served as a transportation hub and today is a major tourist stop. The city serves both cruise ships and ferry services. Boat tours of the Kenai Peninsula National Park leave from Seward’s small boat harbor.
